Welcome to
MonsterThoughts
, the GreenEyedMonster blog.
The world has issues...
let's talk about it!

We wanted to keep this forum open for dialogue and discussion- whether entries are related to the BYOB movement, other eco businesses, hot new topics or articles relating to the environment, or just random thoughts we want to chat about. Whenever we feel inspired or come across something particularly interesting, we will share it with you! And, as always, we welcome your thoughts and feedback!

The creator of the Green Eyed Monster and our friend, Johnny Marra got a shout on Dooce.com for his rad custom kicks (available here). Heather Armstrong writes:

Johnny Marra, an artist based in Baltimore and genius behind Real_Bot, sent Marlo this custom pair of Converse low-tops, making sure to tug at my heart with the hippo reference. Johnny will take any pair of neglected old tennis shoes and give them new life with his illustrations, which have also been featured in public murals and storefront windows. Love his style, and I can't wait for Marlo to be old enough to knock around in these!

We agree. LOVE his style. If you do too, but aren't looking for kicks, you can nab either of Johnny's designs in the Ponder Monster bag or the Logo bag.

Bags for Haiti!

Green Eyed Monster wants to do our part to help out all of the people struggling in the West Indies, and provide support for the amazing humanitarian efforts offering aid. Moments like this provide astounding perspective, and bring together the people of this earth in a profound and awe-inspiring capacity. We're throwing our hat in the ring to be a part of this international camraderie, and will donate 50% of all Green Eyed Monster sales (this includes the designer bags and shoes) from this week to the Red Cross. Since we can't be on the ground to help, we can support those who are.

Help Haiti, Help Mama Earth. A true act of living enviably.

Thank you, in advance.

Monster Plushes abound!

Our final Monster Etsy finds of 2009 comes from the Etsy shop: Zooguu Handmade. They not only offer a number of highly adorable plush monsters in a range of sizes (and prices) but they have a monster throw pillow that would jazz up any toddler's room. We can't help but love.

Get your paws on these cozy critters and bring some MONSTER love into your home for the New Year.

A shout from Inhabitots!

As a mama to a wee babe, I constantly refer to Inhabitots for great green ideas for kids and babies. We were thrilled when they featured our custom kicks by Real_Bot in today's posts. Check out the article here.

Put a smile on your kiddos face!
